Getting there
Ebor is along the Waterfall Way (B78), between Armidale (60 min / 81 km east) and Dorrigo (40 min / 47 km west). The roads on both directions are 100 km/h (62 mph), but the road is a lot more windier from Dorrigo. Speed is heavily enforced on Waterfall Way, particularly on the section between Armidale and Ebor where it is very easy to exceed 100 km/h, unusually more than a road of its size. The school bus from Dorrigo and the School bus from Armidale will take passengers. Dorrigo Transit operates via Waterfall Way from Armidale to Coffs Harbour and does stop in Ebor. Bookings are essential.
Getting around
Private transport is useful, as there is no taxi service nor is there a local bus service in Ebor.
See
1 Ebor Falls. This tiered or multi-step waterfall is the leading tourist attraction of the area. There are multiple lookout points from which to see the magnificent falls. At the main carpark there are picnic tables, wood barbecues (firewood supplied), toilets. No pets. No smoking. Free entry. (updated Nov 2019)
Do
New England National Park is the most popular park nearby for hikes. Cathedral Rock National Park is also nearby, but the hikes there are much harder and a lot less interesting, but you do get good views from Cathedral Rock.
Buy
When locals can't get what they want from the shop at the Access Fuels petrol station, they go shopping in Dorrigo and often in Armidale.
Eat
Ebor is not a very large town and this is reflected in the availability of places to eat. There aren't many alternatives or nearby towns, as this is the only town for a sizable distance.
