Landscape Curup is a landlocked area, surrounded by Bukit Barisan on almost all sides. This vast expanse is known locally as luak. Musi River also flow through the luak.

People The original inhabitants of this region are the Rejang (Tun Jang) tribe. As time goes by, people from other region came here. Immigrant races with significant populations are Javanese, Minangnese, Chinese, Serawainese, Lembaknese, Sundanese and various races from South Sumatra.

Flora and fauna This area is also known as the habitat of Rafflesia arnoldii.

Take a bath in Suban Hot Spring. Hike Mount Kaba (around 20km from downtown through Ahmad Yani street).
