Calarca is a city in Quindío. Calarca is a municipality in the eastern part of the department of Quindío, Colombia. It is 4 km east of the departmental capital Armenia. Its nickname is La Villa del Cacique.

Understand
Just like in other towns in the Quindio, the economy is based in Colombian coffee crops, plantain and manioc. The ecotourism is promoted with destinations such as Peñasblancas Park, with rock climbing and hiking activities. Other important source of income is money remittance from people working in other countries to their families.
