History According to Bronze Age inscriptions, Anyang was the first stable capital city of China dated back to the late Shang Dynasty (1554–1045 BCE). A great number of oracle bones were discovered in Xiaolitun Village, located at the northwest of Anyang City. The oracle bones were primarily used for divination, and the language used is believed to be the earliest one written in Chinese characters. During the Three Kingdoms Period, there were Cao Wei, Leter Zhao, Ran Wei, Qianyan, Dongwei, and Beiqi, so Anyang City was known as the ancient capital of the Seven Dynasties. Anyang's name began at the end of the war. From the Northern Wei Tianxing four years (401 AD) to the Song Dynasty, Anyang was the seat of Xiangzhou. In the second year (1191) Jin Mingchang was promoted to Changde Province. The name of the city was changed to Changde Road, and the Ming and Qing dynasties were still Changde. In 1913, the House of Changde was abolished.

Climate

Anyang has a warm temperate continental monsoon climate, the topography is high in the west, low in the east, the western part is connected with the eastern foot of Taihang, and the eastern part belongs to the Huanghuaihai plain. Anyang City from March to May, the average temperature is 14.4 ℃; June to August, the hottest season, the average temperature is 25.6 ℃, of which July is the hottest month; September to November, the average temperature is 13.8 ℃. Temperatures drop the fastest in October and November. From December to February of the following year, the average temperature is 0.1 °C, of which January is the coldest month. The average multi-year temperature in January of the coldest month is about -1 °C, and the average multi-year temperature in July of the hottest month is about 27 °C. Spring accounts for about 13% to 14% of the precipitation, summer accounts for 60% to 65%, autumn accounts for 19% to 22%, and winter accounts for only 3% to 4%. Getting there

There are two train stations in Anyang; an older station in the city center and a modern station at the eastern end of the city which serves high-speed rail passing through on the route from Beijing to Zhengzhou.

Getting around

Taxi and bus are the only public modes of transport within the city.The bus fare in the city is ¥1. Taxis in Anyang start at ¥6. Anyang has launched a lot of electric motorcycles into the city in the 2020s. You only need to scan the QR code to unlock it. When you arrive at your destination.The application will automatically pop up the amount. It is very convenient. Tourism in the city can be the first choice, because Anyang city attractions are dense and the city area is small.

By bus Anyang city is relatively small, so it is more convenient to take a bus than a taxi，and there are three bus lines that can cover most of Anyang's scenic spots and airports.

South Line 1.Anyang Airport to the city. Bus only ¥3, [Tangyin No. 5], about 15 minutes a trip, half an hour ride to Tangyin bus station. 2. Transfer to [Antang Tourist Line] and pass Yuefei Temple, 羑li City, Anyang Museum, and Text Museum (all luggage can be stored). 3. Luggage storage Tangyin Bus Station (both inside and outside the station supermarket), ride a shared bicycle to Tangyin Yue Fei Temple + 羑li City. Pick up your luggage and take the car/train to Anyang.

The final resting place of Cao Cao, a famous Chinese general and warlord who lived during the Eastern Han Dynasty. The location of Cao Cao’s mausoleum was a mystery for many centuries until it was finally confirmed by archaeologists in 2018. Visitors can now visit the mausoleum. The tomb sits on the west facing east, and the plane is shaped like a "甲" shape. The deepest part is about 15 meters above the surface, and the large tomb covers an area of about 740 m², which is a two-room brick tomb with a ramp. The slope of the tombway is 39.5 m long and 9.8 m wide, and it is mainly composed of the front and rear chambers, 4 side chambers and the tombway. The tomb has a trapezoidal shape on the plane, 18 m east and west, 22 m wide and 19.5 m wide. A museum was opened at the site in 2023.
