St. Monica's Church (Queens)

St. Monica's Church is a historic former Catholic parish church in the Diocese of Brooklyn, located in Jamaica, Queens, New York. It was built in 1856 and was a brick basilica-type building in the Romanesque style. It features a four-story entrance tower in the center of its three-bay-wide front façade. The church was closed and abandoned in 1973, and partially collapsed in 1998. A child care center for York College opened in the mid 2000s incorporating the surviving facade of Saint Monica's Church.
