US President Joe Biden said that he was certain that China would attempt to work out an arrangement with the Taliban. Taliban are recently the global hot talk since the Islamic insurgents have seized power in Afghanistan.

Here is what Biden said on this matter, “China has a real problem with the Taliban. So they’re going to try to work out some arrangement with the Taliban, I’m sure. As does Pakistan, as does Russia, as does Iran. They’re all trying to figure out what to do now.”

The USA and its group of seven allies have agreed to coordinate their response to the Taliban. On the other hand, Washington has blocked access of Taliban to reserves of Afghanistan. The New York Federal Reserve held most of those. This move will ensure that they will live up to their pledges to offer respect to the rights of women and international laws.

But experts say that much of that economic leverage will be lost in case China, Russia, and other countries fund the Taliban.

The current president Group of 20 major economies includes countries like Russia. They have been trying to set up a virtual G20 meeting in Afghanistan. It had not yet announced any date for this meeting. It suggests discord among the group.

Chinese state councilor and Foreign minister Wang Yi told Antony Blinken that the international community should engage with the Taliban. They must guide them positively.

China has not yet recognized the Taliban as the Afghan leader. But Wang hosted Mullah Baradar in July, who was appointed as the deputy prime minister. He has said that the world must guide and support the country and its improvement to a new government rather than giving pressure.

Well, the world will not be much surprised if they see that China is funding the Taliban, which can further raise many international issues.
