Yusufari

It borders the Republic of Niger to the north. Often referred to as the Yusufari Oasis, the Oasis of Yusufari or Tulo Oasis, the region is known for its lush valley setting. The oasis and the nearby village of Tulo Tulowa lie in a low-lying valley. The name "Tulo Tulo" translates to "marshy land with plentiful water."

History Yusufari was part of the wider influence of the Kanem-Bornu Empire, and its location made it a key stopover for nomads, herders and trans-Saharan traders. During the British colonial era in the early 20th century, Yusufari was integrated into the colonial administrative system, while still retaining its traditional leadership. It officially became a Local Government Area in 1989 and later became part of the newly formed Yobe State in 1991.

By bus/car Damaturu the capital city of Yobe State, is well-connected to various towns and states through an extensive road network. Several transport companies offer shuttle services from different parts of the country to Damaturu. Travelling by road to Damaturu typically costs about ₦5,000 from northern regions and around ₦20,000 from the southern parts of Nigeria.

The drinks that you can get in Yusufari Kunu: a traditional Nigerian beverage commonly prepared from grains such as millet, sorghum, or maize. Fura da Nono: a widely loved traditional drink made by combining cow milk (nono) with soft millet dough (fura). Often compared to local yogurt due to its creamy texture and tangy taste, it is a staple refreshment in many northern Nigerian communities. Zobo: a popular drink that is easily found in Yusufari. Made from dried hibiscus petals, it's known for its deep red color and refreshing taste.
