Geography

It is located in the northeastern part of Gyeongsangbuk-do, and it shares boundaries with Bonghwa-gun, Yeongyang-gun, and Yeongdeok-gun in the south and west. To the north, it faces Samcheok City, Gangwon-do. Administrative districts are composed of 2 towns and 8 townships with a total area of ​​989.44 m2, and about 50,000 people live.
