Home of Troy University, Troy is not exactly a page-grabber when it comes to exciting lore and history. However, one notable caveat is that the last person to supposedly die in battle during the Civil War did so at the Skirmish of Hobdy's Bridge, about 20 miles east of Troy, and this even after General Lee had surrendered and the war was essentially over.
如何抵達
Troy is pretty far from everything. Try Greyhound if you need a ride. The bus stop is at 816 US-231. If driving, Troy is about halfway along US 231 between Dothan and Montgomery, and a good 40 miles east of I-65.

1 Pioneer Museum of Alabama, 248 US-231, ☏ +1 334 566-3597. Th-Sa 9AM-5PM. One of those living history places with little tidbits about the pioneering past. (updated Sep 2021)

1 Troy Arboretum, 101 Pell Ave (on Troy University Campus). Representative Alabama floral and ornithological species in their natural habitat. (updated Sep 2021) 2 Pike County Lake, 722, County Road 2224. Just a local fishing hole, but you can rent boats here, so it might be a pleasant way to pass the day. (updated Sep 2021)

1 Julia's Restaurant, 809 US-231, ☏ +1 334 566-5440. Daily 7AM̠-2PM, also F 4PM-8PM. Here's where everyone comes to the feeding trough for some mustard greens and fried chicken. Breakfast and lunch buffet supposedly. (updated Sep 2021)
