Baras is 49 km away from Manila and 32 km away from Antipolo. It is accessible via Manila East Road and Marcos Highway. Jeepneys, buses and UVs pass by the town through J.P. Rizal Street, which runs through the center of town, or the parallel Manila East Road, which serves as a bypass route at the outskirts of town. Jeepneys from the terminal in Paenaan, near the town's border with Antipolo, are bound for Marikina. The minibus service from SM Masinag in Antipolo bound for Pililla passes through Baras.

Places within the town are accessible by tricycle and cars. The northernmost part of the town, including Pinugay, is accessible from the town proper via Lagundi-Baliksaka Road.

1 Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Saint Joseph (Baras Church), J.P. Rizal St. Home of the image of San Jose de Baras. The Church was completed by the Franciscan missionaries in 1686. It features a dark and austere interior thanks to its unplastered bricks, lined with a set of original carvings of the Stations of the Cross. Its ceiling remains uncovered, revealing a ribcage-like row of wooden beams supporting the roof. (updated Mar 2026) 2 Masungi Georeserve, Marcos Highway, Brgy. Pinugay. Tu-Su 5:30AM-6PM. A conservation area near the boundary with Tanay which consists of the geological formations of Masungi rock. It is characterized by rugged limestone karst peaks, steep slopes, and surrounding lush montane rainforests. It contains several caves, including the Yungíb ni Ruben (Ruben's Cave), which features stalactite and stalagmite formations. (updated Oct 2025) 3 Palo Alto Falls, East Dr., Palo Alto Residential Estates. This man-made falls in Palo Alto is an hour drive from the town center. (updated Apr 2026) 4 Kinamatayan Falls (Brgy. Pinugay). Legend says two lovers who had family issues committed suicide at the falls so no one will be able to separate them. A few minutes of hiking will take you to the cold-as-ice falls of Kinamatayan. (updated Oct 2025) 5 Kasarinlan Eco-park, Magsaysay Boulevard, Brgy. Santiago. closed during high water levels.
