1 Banasura Sagar Dam. It is the largest earthen dam in India and the second largest in Asia, and an ideal starting point for hikes into the surrounding scenic mountains. (updated Apr 2026) 2 Meenmutty Falls (6 km). A spectacular waterfall. It is the largest waterfall in Wayanad. It is a three-tiered waterfall with a height of 300 m (1000 feet) and it is on Banasura hills. 3 Banasura Hill. 7:30-11AM. A peak in Western Gaht towering to a height of 2,073 metres (6,801 ft). It is reached by a 14 to 18 km round trek, which takes about 6 to 9 hours. It is considered one of the highest and most scenic trails in the Western Ghats. It offers birds-eye views of the expansive Banasura Sagar Dam. The trek officially commences from the Banasuramala–Meenmutty Eco-tourism center near Padinharathara. To maintain the fragile ecosystem, only 75 trekkers are allowed per day. A guide is compulsory in the trek and charges ₹4000 for a group of 5.
