Ajlun Castle, a great example of Islamic military architecture built during the Crusades, is an interesting maze of passages and levels, and offers a wonderful view of the surrounding area, northwestern Jordan, and off into Galilee. The Baptism Site “Bethany Beyond the Jordan” (Al-Maghtas) just west of the West Bank border is the place where Jesus is said to have been baptized. The site is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List
