Mbini is a town in Litoral Province, Río Muni, Equatorial Guinea, lying at the mouth of the Benito River. It is located 44 km southwest of Bata, the provincial capital.

Mbini sits on the Atlantic coast where the Benito River meets the sea. The town serves as a gateway to the interior and to nearby islands such as Corisco. Its setting combines coastal scenery, river life, and access to rainforest adventures.

History Mbini has been inhabited for thousands of years by various indigenous groups, including the Fang people, who developed distinct traditions and social structures. The town’s name itself is of Ndowe origin, reflecting the region’s linguistic heritage latitude.

Climate Mbini has a tropical monsoon climate. The main wet season runs from April to October, when the West African monsoon brings moist air and frequent rainfall. The dry season, from December to February, is generally considered the best time to visit for outdoor activities and wildlife viewing. Temperatures typically range from 74°F to 87°F (23°C to 31°C) year-round, with the sea warmest between February and April

By plane There is no commercial airport in Mbini. The nearest major airport is in Bata. After landing, travel by road to get to Mbini.

Mbini is connected to Bolondo (on the other side of the river, from where you can go to Bata) by a bridge.
