Geography Kogo is one of the two border crossings, the other being Acalayong, from which people traveling to Gabon from Bata and other cities can proceed.

Climate Kogo has a warm, humid equatorial climate with temperatures around 24–30°C (75–86°F) year-round. It experiences a rainy season from April to October with heavy rainfall, and a drier, cooler season from November to March. Travelers should be ready for heat, humidity, and sudden showers, especially during the rainy months.

By road It is about 117 to 121 kilometers (73 to 75 miles) south of Bata, the regional hub, depending on the route taken. Travel by road from Bata is the most common way to reach Kogo. The journey by road typically passes through smaller towns like Acalayong.

By boat Kogo can be accessed by motorboat from nearby coastal towns or even from Gabon, which shares a border nearby. This option offers a scenic route.

By plane There is no commercial airport in Kogo itself. The nearest major airport is in Bata. After landing, travel by road to get to Kogo.
