Hannibal is a city in Missouri. It is located approximately 100 miles northwest of St. Louis and is located on the west bank of the Mississippi River.
Hannibal is best known as the boyhood home of author Samuel Longhorn Clemens, more commonly known as Mark Twain. Twain's The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn are set in Hannibal. Many historical sites in the city revolve around Twain and his writings, which occupy a prominent place in the history of the Underground Railroad era.

By bus Burlington Trailways operates daily buses in each direction between St. Louis and places in Iowa, stopping in Hannibal.
By plane American Airlines partner Cape Air operate flights from St. Louis to nearby (28 miles away) Quincy, Illinois.
