Gobardanga (গোবরডাঙা Gōborḍāngā), a town in the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, has a wide prevailing history. Gobardanga had been governed by Brahmin Zamindars of bharadwaj gotra in pre-old days. Their descendants still reside in their ancestral home and maintaining all regulations, worship goddess Durga as per their tradition during Durga Puja.

1 Gobardanga Zamindar Palace. The Mukhopdahyay family who owns this property originated from Sharsha which is at present-day Khulna Division, Bangladesh. Khelaram Mukhopadhyay of this family built this zamindar house. (updated Dec 2022) 2 Prasannamoyee Kali Temple. Established by then Zamindar Kaliprasanna Mukhopadhyay, the temple faced southwards has Goddess Kali along with 12 other shrines of Lord Shiva distributed into 6 shrines on either side of the temple. It is believed that zamindar Rani Rashmoni came across the temple and she got the idea of establishing the Dakshineswar Kali Temple in Kolkata. (updated Dec 2022)
