Futamatagawa

城市概覽

In 1889, Futamatagawa was created as Futamatagawa village. In 1926, Futamatagawa station was built, and still serves quite a lot of passengers every day. In 1939, the village was integrated into Yokohama City.

如何抵達

Go from Tokyo Station to Yokohama Station in JR Tokaidou line (東海道線), transfer to Sotetsu line (相鉄線) at Yokohama Station, it takes about 50 minutes and costs ¥650.

必看景點

Child nature park (こども自然公園) (10 min walk from the station), ☏ +81 45 -311-2016. This big park is loved by the young and the old alike. There is a pond, whose water was used for cooking at the battle of Tsurugamine in 1202. The pond was enlarged for irrigation in 1700. It is a habitat for "genjibotaru" (Nipponoluciola cruciata, a variety of firefly) and registered as one of Yokohama City's natural monument. In spring, cherry blossoms are very beautiful. Zoorasia (よこはま動物園ズーラシア) (Take a train on the Sotetsu Line from Futamatagawa to Mitsukyo station, and then a bus (about 15min) to the zoo.), ☏ +81 45 -959-1000. It is a zoo. There are many animals, including rare species like Okapi, which has a face of giraffe and body of zebra. Choshoji Temple (長昌寺) (30 min walk from the station), ☏ +81 45 -391-1379. Sōtō sect temple. Many people visit there on New Year's Eve to strike the temple bell toll. Everyone can participate after waiting in a long line. Amazake (sweet drink made from fermented rice) is served on the occasion for free.

It takes 5 minutes to walk from the station. There are from big to small room. And, you can eat many foods in there.
