President Volodymyr Zelensky accuses Russia of war crimes. This was after it launched airstrikes on the city, Kharkiv. 10 people died, and 35 got hurt when an opera house, a concert hall, and government offices got struck in Kharkiv. Ukraine’s military mentioned that Russian troops parachuted into Kharkiv to capture the city.

The military said that there were immediate clashes after paratroopers landed. The main TV tower in the capital Kyiv was also hit, knocking media off-air and killing five people.

Moscow warned residents near Kiev’s military areas to leave their homes. The explosion was immense, and the tower remained standing. The Babyn Yar ravine, a nearby memorial to victims of the Holocaust, damaged in the same strike. War crimes are affecting the life of normal people. They are bombarding the areas which don’t have military bases.

On Twitter, Mr. Zelensky said that the attacks were history repeating. He further added that “What is the point of saying ‘never again’ for 80 years, if the world stays silent when a bomb drops on the same site of Babyn Yar?”

Satellite images revealed the Russian military moving towards Kyiv. A senior US defense official also said there had been no appreciable movement.

In a speech to the EU parliament, President Zelensky asked Europe to prove that they are with Ukraine. Later the parliament mentioned that it would look at a request by Ukraine for candidate status of the EU.

Zelensky claimed that attacks on Kharkiv as state terrorism on the part of Russia. Several video footage also shows missiles hitting local government buildings. They also reveal massive fireballs and blowing out windows of buildings.

Residents of Kharkiv mentioned to the BBC about their condition. They were living in hell because of apparent war crimes.

Yulia, a resident and a mother of three, mentioned that Russians were targeting areas with no military infrastructure. Another resident told the Newshour program talked about their terror. They don’t know where the shelling would strike next.
