Warnings from the US about possible retaliation on al-Qaeda death

Ayman al-Zawahiri, the leader of al-Qaeda, can prompt the al-Qaeda supporters to target the US. The personnel and facilities will be on the radar. A United States drone killed Zawahiri in Kabul. Zawahiri was the mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks on the United States, killing about 3000 people.

After Osama Bin Laden died in 2011, the Egyptian doctor took over al-Qaeda. Joe Biden, the president of the United States, has confirmed the killing. He blamed Zawahiri for violence and murder against the citizens of America.

Zawahiri’s death will give closure to the families of the victims of the attacks in 2001. The hijackers had crashed passenger jets into the landmark buildings in Washington and New York. Also, it included 2 skyscrapers within Manhattan.

Zawahiri also masterminded several other violent activities. It includes the suicide bombing of the USS Cole naval destroyer in October 2000 in Aden. It killed 17 sailors of the US. The attacks in 1998 on the United States embassies in Tanzania and Kenya were also planned by him. The incident killed 223 people.

The state department believes that there is a potential for anti-American violence. It is possible because of Ayman al-Zawahiri’s death on 31st July 2022. The Department of State has also said it in a caution update worldwide.

According to the present information, the terrorist organizations are planning terrorist attacks against the interests of the US in different regions worldwide. However, all these attacks can employ various tactics like assassinations, suicide operations, hijackings, kidnappings, and bombings.

The citizens of the United States are encouraged strongly to maintain high-level vigilance. Also, they recommended practicing situational awareness while traveling abroad.

With al-Zawahiri’s death, al-Qaeda may decide to revive its fortunes with a new strategy and new leader. So, it is not very wise to think that the threat is over because of the death of its leader.

The United States is getting ready to prevent the nation from any future interruptions from al-Qaeda.
