Almost 10000 migrants have gathered under a border brigade of US- Mexico over recent days. It is leading to a leading crisis on the humanitarian ground. The bridge is the connection point between Del Rio in Texas to the Ciudad Acuna of Mexico. There is a temporary camp which has grown up at that place with staggering speed.
Mostly the Haitian migrants who have crossed the Rio Grande are now sleeping under the bridge in a much squalid condition.
The US government is facing a surge of migrants at its border. Earlier this year, a large number of migrants were detained at the US- Mexico border in July. It has exceeded 200000 in number for the first time in 21 days, according to government data.

They are part of a larger wave of Haitians who are heading north. Many of them have already arrived in Brazil and other nations of South America due to the 2010 earthquake.
According to the mayor of Del Rio, Bruno Lozano, more than 10500 migrants came under the Del Rio International Bridge. A 41-year old Afro-Cuban asylum seeker Ramse Colon who worked in Peru said the Del Rio camp was a ‘complete chaos’.
One needs to stand there among thousands with a little ticket to wait for the turn, as he told me.
Border Patrol also said in a statement that it was increasing its staffing in Del Rio to conduct a safe and orderly process.
It further added, “To prevent injuries from heat-related illness, the shaded area underneath Del Rio International Bridge is serving as a temporary staging site while migrants wait to be taken into USBP [US Border Patrol] custody.”
