Mogadishu (PP News Desk) — The Prime Minister of Somalia Mohammed Hussein Roble has held a meeting with presidential candidates in Mogadishu.

The meeting revolved around strengthening security in the capital and preparing Somalia for inclusive and transparent elections.

The Presidents of Galmudug and Hirshabelle attended the meeting.

Roble assured Presidential candidate that inclusive and transparent elections will take place in Somalia.

“We discussed the political situation and agreed to work together on security” Abdirahman Abdishakur, a presidential candidate later wrote on Facebook.

President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed endorsed the September 17 electoral model following a declaration by Prime Minister Roble that the Federal Government of Somalia “is committed to facilitating elections based on the 17 September agreement and Baidoa Recommendations”.

President Mohamed will address the Federal Parliament on elections and the executive decision to have the mandate extension reversed “in the national interest of Somalia”.
