President Donald Trump is facing growing discontent from within his own MAGA movement over his administration’s handling of files related to disgraced financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Prominent allies and conservative influencers have accused the administration of failing to deliver on Trump’s campaign promise to fully disclose the so-called “Epstein files.”

The controversy erupted after the Justice Department and FBI released a brief two-page memo last week following what they called an “exhaustive review” of Epstein-related material.

The memo concluded there was no “client list” and no credible evidence of blackmail involving powerful individuals. It reaffirmed the 2019 finding that Epstein died by suicide while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

These findings contradict years of conspiracy theories widely shared among Trump’s supporters, many of whom have long insisted Epstein’s death was part of a broader cover-up.

Far-right activist Laura Loomer told Politico the MAGA base felt betrayed. “The base is unhappy, and I think this issue isn’t going away,” she said.

Attorney General Pam Bondi, a longtime Trump ally, has become a lightning rod in the backlash. Earlier this year, Bondi told Fox News that Epstein’s client list was “sitting on [her] desk to review.” Critics now accuse her of backtracking and demand her removal. At a Turning Point USA conference, former Fox News host Megyn Kelly labeled Bondi the “villain” of the saga, warning the inconsistency could hurt Trump in the upcoming midterms.

Despite mounting criticism, Trump has stood by Bondi, calling her “fantastic” in a Truth Social post over the weekend. “LET PAM BONDI DO HER JOB — SHE’S GREAT!” he wrote, defending her work within the administration.

Behind the scenes, however, tension is mounting. Reports suggest FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino, both previously skeptical of the official narrative on Epstein’s death, have expressed dissatisfaction.

Bongino has reportedly threatened to resign, though Trump dismissed those rumors, saying Bongino “sounded terrific.”

Calls for a new special investigation into the Epstein case are growing louder, with Steve Bannon and Loomer urging independent prosecutors to examine the government’s handling of the files.

“Epstein is a key that picks the lock on so many things,” Bannon said at the conservative conference, referencing intelligence agencies and potential government ties.

As the crisis deepens, it threatens to expose significant fractures within Trump’s political base, raising questions about trust, transparency, and the lingering power of conspiracy within MAGA ranks.
