North Korea has recently fitted a short-range missile toward the sea off its east coast, as the military of North Korea says. The test took place when the ambassador of North Korea said at the UN that no one could deny the right of Pyongyang’s self-defense and to test weapons.
Earlier this month, Pyongyang tested firing for both its cruise and ballistic missiles. But several days ago, North Korea has also expressed willingness to engage in talks with South Korea.
The US military said in a statement on Tuesday that it was aware of the missile launch. However, it didn’t pose any immediate threat to US personnel or its allies.
However, the US Indo- Pacific Command said that the launch could impact the demolishing of an illicit weapons program. On Tuesday in the Japanese media, he quoted the defense ministry saying that the projectile might have a ballistic missile which the UN has banned.
South Korean President Moon Jae-in has ordered the National Security Council of Seoul to analyze any of the intentions behind the latest missile launch of the North.
Ms. Kim Yo-Jong said that they are open to Mr. Moon’s proposal to declare an end to the war between the two Koreas. But further, it added that the South needed to stop their hostile policies first.
Shortly after this latest launch, North Korea’s envoy Kim Song has spoken at the UN’s General Assembly. He said that the North has the right to work on its weapons systems.
He further added that the country was building up their national defense to defend themselves and to safeguard the peace of the country.
The North has repeatedly accused the South of double standards over its military activities. South Korea has recently tested its first submarine-launched ballistic missile.
North Korea has scheduled a Supreme People’s Assembly session on Tuesday. Issues like youth education are changing the economic plan of the country. North Korea is facing a food shortage. It has shut its borders to stay out of Covid. However, their weapon games are still on.
