New Haitian Ambassador Arrives In Taiwan

The new ambassador of the Republic of Haiti to Taiwan, Hervé Denis, met yesterday  with Taiwan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Wu Zhaoxie, to present a copy of his credentials, and exchange views on matters of common concern between the two countries.
Minister Wu welcomed Ambassador Denis to take up his new post in Taiwan, and said that Ambassador Denis has rich experience and that he looks forward to working with Ambassador Denis to deepen the friendship between the two countries in the future.
Minister Wu also asked Ambassador Denis to convey to Haitian President Jovenel MoÏse the Taiwanese government, and people’s gratitude for Haiti’s long-term support and recognition of Taiwan on the international stage.
Ambassador Denis emphasized that Taiwan is an important ally of Haiti.
He thanked Taiwan for its cooperation in various projects in Haiti to enhance the well-being of the Haitian people, and added that he would do his best to promote cooperation and exchanges in various fields between the two countries during his term in Taipei.

Ambassador Denis went on to point out that in terms of economy and trade, he hopes that Haiti can use its geographic advantage in the Caribbean to establish a “Public-Private Partnership” (PPP) with Taiwan to further expand cooperation.
Ambassador Denis is a senior diplomatic official of Haiti.
He has previously been stationed in the United States, Germany, Canada, the Dominican Republic, Switzerland and elsewhere according to sources.
He has also held important positions on the domestic front including that of Minister of Labor and Defense of Haiti.
