FBI conducted a raid at Mar-a-Lago home in Florida, Donald Trump said in a statement. He also stated that they broke open a safe as well.

The Monday raid was connected to Mr. Trump’s handling of the official papers during his term in office.

“These are dark times for our nation,” Mr. Trump said. “Nothing like this has ever happened to a president of the United States before.”

However, the FBI and the Justice Department have not made any official statement about the raid.

The reports claim that several boxes were taken from his residence. The reports also claim that no doors were down.

This year in February, the National Archives said that they had retrieved 15 boxes of paper from the former President’s house in Florida.

The agency later revealed that some of the papers included in the box classify as national security information.

The news of the raid conducted by the FBI had reached Mr. Trump’s followers. They came to his house to show support and anger. They waved flags outside of his house.

Republicans in America have shown their dissent about the raids. Florida Senator Marco Rubio, a Republican, said: “Using government power to persecute political opponents is something we have seen many times from 3rd world Marxist dictatorships.”

Mr. Trump claims that he cooperated with all the government agencies. However, he also expresses his anger and calls the raid on his house unnecessary.

Mr. Trump, as also reported, has said that such raids happen only in Third world countries.

Palm Beach County State Attorney Dave Aronberg describes the raid as “a big deal”. There has never been a search warrant like this in American history.

Presidential Records Act requires all USA Presidents to transfer all of their letters, work documents, and emails to the National Archives.

Reports claim that the raid by the FBI happened when Mr. Trump was in New York.
