Two American women intent on ‘pranking’ their family members have been arrested for taking April Fool jokes just a little bit too far, unintentionally involving authorities, and are now looking at the very real possibility of serious jail time.
In one case a woman in the state of Kansas was arrested after making a phone call to her daughter and claiming she had been shot.
According to reports and Lt. Ronald Hunt of the local Wichita police force, “multiple police units, probably between 15-20 officers from the Wichita Police Department as well as fire department and EMS responded to the scene.”
Neither local police nor the daughter of the woman later identified as Arnthia Willis aged 58, were aware it was a prank, with Ms. Willis senior at work when she made the call.
Her arrest was based on an illegal request for emergency service assistance according to local authorities.
