Former Indian National Team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is well known for his cricketing skills on the field, but he has now seemingly mastered the skills of entrepreneurship away from the crease.

Dhoni now owns several businesses and has interests in footwear, a gym, and an Indian football league team.

A couple of months back, the dashing cricketer even moved into the poultry business when he ordered 2,000 black chickens of the Kadaknath breed for his Ranchi farm.

Dhoni is said to be growing vegetables at his Ranchi farmhouse, and is on the verge of exporting them to Dubai by way of the Jharkhand Agriculture Department, India Today has reported.

The department uses the “All Season Farm Fresh” agency to send consignments of vegetables to Gulf countries.

Strawberries, cabbages, tomatoes, broccoli, peas, hock, and papaya are extensively cultivated over about 10 acres of his 43-acre farmhouse at Ring Road in Sembo Village.

There is also a huge demand for cabbages, tomatoes, and peas grown in Dhoni’s farmhouse in the Ranchi market.

Dhoni is at present on vacation with his family in Dubai to celebrate the New Year after leaving millions of cricket fans shell-shocked when he announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15th last year.

And even though had not played a single international match after he was run out in the 2019, ICC Cricket World Cup semifinal against New Zealand, after that semifinal exit, he refused to make himself available for any of the bilateral series games since amidst speculation that it would be difficult for him to stage a comeback in the Indian team.

He, did, however, play for the Chennai Super Kings as skipper in the IPL last year and remains on their books, but for now the man who once led India on the cricket field is proving one to watch in the world of business.

Watch this space – and look out for his chickens in a store near you soon!
