Exit polls show the far‑right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party won the Saxony‑Anhalt state election but did not secure an absolute majority of seats.

An exit poll is conducted immediately after voters leave polling stations, usually by private companies working for media outlets. It provides an early snapshot of the election outcome before the official count is completed, which can take hours.
