Volodymyr Zelensky visits Washington, US for his first foreign trip

Volodymyr Zelensky will visit the US president in the white house. He has his scheduled meeting with Joe Biden and public meetings on Wednesday.

Zelensky was not able to visit any other nation in the heat of war. It will also be his first trip to other nations after the war event in February. The details of the travel are not disclosed due to security reasons.

White House announced the provision of Ukraine with Patriot missile batteries. These batteries will uplift the air-defense systems. Also, it will help them protect against drone and missile attacks by Russia.

Volodymyr Zelensky shared the information on his Twitter handle. He says that he is on his way to Washington. However, he aims to strengthen the bonds with the US and talk about the aid of Ukraine. Furthermore, he will also give a meeting in the congress and attend various meetings during the visit.

The officials kept the visit secret until the very end. They released the news just hours before the events. The US has been the biggest ally of Ukraine in the war. The US alone contributing $50 billion to Ukraine as different forms of aid. Also, the US is helping Ukraine with financial, humanitarian, and security aspects from the beginning.

Volodymyr Zelensky was communicating with the western leader on a cell phone in the past year. Now, inviting him to the white house sends a strong message through the world. The US is standing alongside Ukraine from the beginning and will stand to the very end.

Russia replied to the event as it would lead to “aggravation of the conflict”. Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesperson, said that it would not go well for Ukraine.

White House announced a new package worth $2 Billion to Ukrainian forces. This package will also include a Patriot missile battery and other defense systems for air defense assistance.

Ukraine’s military expenditures exceed $4 billion a month. This meeting can be a great help for Ukraine in the upcoming winters.
