Uyghur Muslims Remember The Holocaust, As The CCP Looks To Repeat It

WASHINGTON: January 27, 2021, will mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day, designated by the United Nations General Assembly as a day to honor the memory of the six million Jews and other victims of Nazism – including but not limited to political prisoners, homosexuals, Roma, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities.

The date also coincides with the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, a complex of three camps near the town of Oswiecim, Poland, where 1.1 million people were sent to their death through gas chambers or forced labor.
Nearly one million Jews perished in the camp, reports The Jerusalem Post.

“On behalf of East Turkistan and its people, we mourn in solidarity with our Jewish brothers and sisters in honoring Holocaust Remembrance Day,” said Salih Hudayar, Prime Minister of the East Turkistan Government in Exile

The State Department declared last week that the Chinese government is committing genocide and crimes against humanity through its wide scale repression of Uyghurs and other predominantly Muslim ethnic minorities in its northwestern region of [East Turkistan]* (renamed Xinjiang), including in its use of internment camps and forced sterilization.

The determination of atrocities is a rare action on the part of the State Department and could lead the United States to impose more sanctions against China under the new Biden administration, reports the NY Times

The finding is the harshest denunciation yet by any government against China’s policies in East Turkistan.

Genocide is, according to international convention, the “intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group.”

“The CCP are the Nazis of today, engaging in a 21st Century Holocaust-like genocide that is waging against Uyghurs and other Turkic peoples in East Turkistan,” Mr. Hudayar said.  “Justice will be served, and humanity will prevail when the world acts on China’s atrocities against humanity.”

*East Turkistan was renamed Xinjiang by the CCP after its Occupation of the region in 1949.
