US threatens China for helping Russia

The US said that China would encounter consequences. The US does not want China to help Russia evade its sanctions. Unknown US officials reported many news channels about Russia asking for help from China. According to the report, Russia aims to get military assistance.

In answer to this, the Chinese foreign ministry accused the US of spreading false information. This report came up before the top US, and Chinese officials decided to meet.US media stated that Russia recently asked China specifically for military equipment.

Jake Sullivan, US National Security Adviser, stated that “communicating directly, privately to Beijing that there will be consequences for large-scale sanctions evasion efforts or support to Russia to backfill them.”

He further added that the US believes China knew about the planning of Vladimir Putin. However, Beijing may not have understood the entire plotting.

A spokesman for the foreign ministry in Beijing, Zhao Lijian, gave a response to this. He stated that the US is targeting China on Ukraine’s invasion.

Mr. Zhao said that the news was fake. He added that China was playing a constructive role in promoting talks. President Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated the same fact as the Chinese spokesman. He clarified that Russia considers itself independent enough to carry out its operation. He also said that the operation would get completed on time.

Mr. Sullivan met Yang Jiechi, a member of China’s top decision-making body. There was also no quick word on the content of the discussions.

Reuters news agency quoted that Mr. Sullivan spelled out the consequences. China stated that Moscow’s “legitimate security concerns” need attention.

In the United Nations General Assembly, China was one of 35 countries that abstained from Russia’s invasion. Beijing also expressed unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty. It also called for peace. It also said that it is ready to help to end the war through diplomacy. Many countries urged them to stop Russia’s invasion.
