Ukraine guarding Belarus border after Putin visited Lukashenko

Ukraine’s army is bulking up its defenses to the Belarus border as well. These events started after President Putin visited the Belarus leader Lukashenko. Deputy Interior Minister Yevhen Yenin said in an interview that they are boosting the arms and ammunition on the borders.

Belarus is a neighboring country to both Russia and Ukraine. After the meeting, the Russian president orders its army to strengthen its strongholds. He ordered the forces to deal with the combat risk, groups violating Russia’s borders, and identifying saboteurs and traitors.

He added in his statement to ensure the safety and security of the people of Moscow-acquired Ukraine. In some areas, the Russian citizens suffered significant military reverses.

Russia also announced its joint military operation drills with Belarus in the coming months. The troops stationed in the Belarus area will conduct these joint drills.

Reacting to the following news, Mr. Yenin confirmed that they are now building defense lines against both Russian and Belarus borders. There is no direct involvement of Belarus in the Ukraine war yet. But Belarus allowed Russian troops to pass from its territory in February.

However, the reports suggest that Minsk, the government of Russia, is applying pressure on them to conduct special operation drills.

To this, Dmitry Peskov, Kremlin spokesman, said it was all just and waste of time and dismissed the report. He told the media that it’s all groundless fabrications.

President Putin’s visit to Minsk is a venture after a three-and-a-half years break. The sudden visit and military monuments are raising concerns for the Ukrainian army. The Belarus leader Lukashenko has been in power since 1994. But his recent re-election in 2020 was not considered by the EU.

The impact of interfering in the war can be worse for Ukraine. Russia can launch instant strikes on Kyiv. According to Zelensky, Russia can now launch heavy strikes inflicting heavy damages.
