TTT Notice: Tibetan Uprising Memorial, Taipei, March 10th

Tibet – as the world knows – is a nation occupied by, and under the control of, China.

As such, Tibetans are not free to demonstrate against authority, to own or display a picture of their spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, or to vote in free and fair elections.

That is not the case here in Taiwan, and, as a result, in solidarity with our brethren in Tibet and the Tibetan diaspora worldwide, of which there are a considerable number here, tonight the Tibetan Uprising of 1959 will be marked at the main arch of Liberty Square near the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall in Taipei. People will gather before 1900 to remember the atrocities carried out by the Chinese Communist Party and the PLA – the Chinese military – that left tens of thousands of Tibetans dead, but not forgotten.

Please attend if you would like to show your support for Tibetans as they struggle to one day be able to return to their homeland. All are welcome.
