Texas Democrats are approaching to quit from the discriminatory voting bill

The Texas Democrats have recently walked out of the Texan House of Representatives. It is blocking a bill for voting, which criticized for racial discrimination. This Republican-led bill introduces the sweeping of all the restrictions from the voters to cast their ballot.

Texas Democrats have walked out an hour before the deadline for the approval. It is bringing the vote to a standstill. The bill is more likely going to introduce later this year.

Republican Governor Greg Abbott on this matter said he would call for a special session for legislation. Its terms have the revision after the negotiations. It includes a ban on voting, i.e., drive-through. It got the credit for the encouraging record of voter turnout in Houston.

The bill is also scrapping the 24- hour polling sites. It is a ban and temporary structure to be used as a polling station. Also, it is preventing the election officials from sending unsolicited absentee ballots to their voters. It is making things harder for removing the partisan poll watcher. The bill is forbidding voting on Sundays before 13:00. It is giving the courts the power of overturning the election for the alleged fraudulent.

Supporters of this legislation are saying that it needs to bolster election security. However, the democrats and the civil rights group are saying that the bill is a disproportionate burden. It is a discouraging way for the voters from their ethnic minorities and the disabled and elderly people.

“The Republican party is running scared because they know this state is changing,” said Democratic politician Julián Castro. “[The bill] is an attempt by [Republicans] to hold onto their power at the expense of everyone else.”

There were not any substantial allegations of fraud during last year’s election in Texas. Republicans have maintained a grip on all of their state-wide offices for three long decades. The state has some of the most restrictive measures for voting.

According to Mr. Biden, this bill is un-American and attacks the sacred right of voting. Donald Trump alleged that he lost the election due to voter fraud. The allegation debunked through US Courts and international observers. 14 states have also enacted restrictive measures of balloting.
