Taiwan’s Black Hawk helicopter crash kills 8 military officers including top general


We have seen how the crashes of helicopters and aeroplanes can be deadly. The same has just happened in Taiwan as a Black Hawk helicopter flying in the Northern part of Taiwan has crashed. Sadly, it is reported that 8 of the Taiwanese military officers have also lost their lives in the crash. It is also known that one of the 8 victims of the crash is also a top general in the military of Taiwan which is a huge loss for Taiwan’s military department. We can also report that a mourning area was set up immediately for Taiwan’s top general and 7 other military officers who lost their lives in the crash.

According to the report, a UH-60M Black Hawk helicopter in the mountainous district of Wulai in New Taipei City on Thursday morning crashed taking lives of 8 people. The report also mentions that the remains of the 8 victims were brought to the Tri-Service General Hospital in Taipei for paying homage. Hundreds of military personnel gathered at the hospital soon after to honour their comrades who unfortunately lost their lives.

A military ceremony was also held at the entrance of the hall to greet the spirits as the report reveals. It is also known that the families of all the victims were brought in a minibus at the hospital who were devastated to see their loved ones. We are also told that the body of Chief of the General Staff Shen Yi-ming was brought to the hospital via an ambulance.

As for the incident, we know that the Black Hawk helicopter took off from Songshan Airport in the early hours of Thursday morning but had to crash land in the mountains of Wulai for some unknown reasons. It is also known that the black box from the helicopter has been found so we will get more details about the crash soon.
