One of the major talking points in the Taiwanese economy is the tourism department of the country. We know that the industrial segment is thriving in the country and the production is also going great. But we know that the recent events surrounding Taiwan have painted a wrong picture of Taiwan in people’s eyes. Having said that, we do know that the country is still receiving a good number of visitors every month. But it is also a fact that the maximum number of visitors to Taiwan were from China which has suddenly fallen due to the tourist visa ban.
Having said that, we now have a new report regarding tourism in Taiwan which is a positive one. It mentions that the visitors coming to Taiwan outside of China has increased in double figures. As per this report, October saw the rise of visitors to Taiwan from outside China by 16% whereas it grew 10% in November as well. This means that the island nation is now seeing tourists outside of China and this is a good thing for Taiwan’s economy.
Also, the report regarding visitors that have been received by Taiwan this year is expected to break last year’s record of 11.06 million. As estimated visitors who have explored Taiwan this year are expected to be around the 11.79 million mark which is a significant increase from last year. Taiwan’s tourism bureau has confirmed that 10.71 million visitors reached Taiwan at the end of November this year. This means that the country is definitely breaking last year’s record but we will have to wait and see what the actual figure is. It must also be noted that the Taiwan tourism bureau expects the island nation to have 11.28 million visitors in 2019 but says that the numbers might increase.
