Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je has been in limelight for some time now. While there are various reasons for this, he has known to keep people entertained due to his comments. Recently, we reported that Ko Wen-je created a new political party in Taiwan named as Taiwan People’s Party. He was also elected as the chairman of his new party. However, it is not sure if Ko Wen-je will contest the 2020 Presidential Elections in Taiwan. Because he has apparently not decided about the same as yet.
Now, we have also seen reports suggesting that Ko Wen-je’s participation in the Taiwan elections could be a key to President Tsai’s re-election. It is said that Tsai Ing-wen could lose a percentage of votes in her share if Ko decided to contest the elections. If he doesn’t, Tsai’s road to getting re-elected gets much easier.
However, Ko Wen-je has made some hilarious comments on a radio show in which he compared himself as well as other political candidates with animals. Ko says that he sees himself as a Lion while Foxconn Technology founder Terry Gou is a tiger and former Legislative Speaker Wang Jin-pyng is a fox.
New reports have emerged now which suggest that Terry Gou who lost the KMT presidential primaries is thinking of fighting for the Taiwan Presidential Elections as an independent. But he is also thinking of keeping Ko as his running mate. While Ko says that he is closer to Gou so he is a lion and Gou a tiger, Wang is a “living dictionary of contemporary history.”
Also, Ko mentioned that either Gou or he would run as a president and he added that if Gou decides to run for the Taiwan Presidential Elections, he would stay out of the race. He says that by September 17, the decision will be made as it is the official deadline for registration.
