Biden failed to keep his promise on the bill as the sister of George Floyd says so

Sister of George Floyd has boycotted a meeting with Joe Biden. She said he “broke a promise” for enacting the police reform legislation during the anniversary of her brother’s death. As Bridgett Floyd attended a rally in Minneapolis, Minnesota, other members of the family lobbied Mr. Biden at the White House.

The George Floyd Justice in Policing Act is stalling at Capitol Hill. On Tuesday, the cities in the US and abroad marked one year after the death of Floyd. Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, the convicted one, in this case, was kneeling on his neck area for nine minutes and more. He got detained for the suspicion of passing a counterfeit bill worth $20. He faced 40 years of prison when sentenced on 25th June. Mr. Biden has set up a deadline for the signing of the police reform legislation.

After the meeting with the president and Vice President Kamala Harris at White House, Floyd’s brother Philonise said, “If you can make federal laws to protect the bird, which is the bald eagle, then you can make federal laws to protect people of color.”

Another brother Terrance said it had been a very productive conversation at the Oval Office. However, Bridgett Floyd, who held a moment of silence at the Celebration of Life event, came up with an explanation for this.

“I was going to DC for Biden to sign a bill,” she said. “Biden has not signed that bill. Biden has broken a promise.”

She also added a message for Joe Biden to get his people in order. After meeting the family of Floyd, the president has issued a statement pledging to support the legislation.

He is quite optimistic about retaining the American ideal on this matter. As a democrat, he led the way for the public lobbying for the coronavirus-related bills. He has also left many negotiations for the police reform to the lawmakers of Capitol Hill.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, on this matter, said they have been respecting the space required for the negotiators. She declined to offer a new deadline for reaching the agreement.

The activists are saying Mr. Biden needed to do more to help this bill pass. The president needs to step up the ensuring of the finishing line, according to Judith Browne Dianis.

Mr. Biden is also receiving pressure from Black Lives Matter and the other activists to stop the military equipment supply. However, despite the calls from the House Democrats for the issue of an executive order, there is no activity on the part of the White House. Legal cases regarding George Floyd’s murder are continuing.
