Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov denied speculations about President Vladimir Putin’s illness. Mr. Lavrov said the Russian leader appears in public every day. Therefore, no sane person would see any signs of an ailment. He spoke this during an interview with French TV.
Unconfirmed media speculation that Mr. Putin, who turns 70 this year, is I’ll get observed. Rumors that he is suffering from ill health, possibly cancer, are increasing widely. The interview came up as Russia continues its advance in Ukraine’s Donbas region.
Russian Foreign Minister said the liberation of the eastern region is an unconditional priority for Russia. He repeated the Kremlin’s widely repeated and usual line that Russia is fighting a neo-Nazi regime. He noted that President Putin regularly appeared in public.
Mr. Lavrov told TF1, “I don’t think that sane people can see in this person signs of some kind of illness or ailment. You can watch him on screens and read and listen to his speeches. I leave it to the conscience of those who spread such rumors despite daily opportunities to assess how anyone is looking.”
British intelligence sources quoted media outlets that Mr. Putin was seriously ill in the last week. However, rumors about the condition of the Russian leader surfaced periodically for years. On the other hand, He is long known for his healthy lifestyle and love of the sport.
Western intelligence agencies are taking a close interest in President Putin’s health. This is because he has sole authority over the use of Russia’s vast nuclear arsenal. So they need to know if he is about to launch an impetuous tactical nuclear strike on Ukraine.
Two years of Covid-inspired isolation made Putin realize that everything the West and Nato does is to the detriment of Russia. But there is serious speculation in the western media that he has serious health. Though, the Russian Foreign Minister fails to speak anything on such a note. This is more wishful thinking than anything backed up by hard medical evidence.
