Putin grants permission to inspect Zaporizhzhia nuclear complex

Vladimir Putin is the sole leader of Russia. He granted permission to visit the Zaporizhzhia plant. The permission is for UN Officials only. They can visit and inspect the nuclear power plant.

The announcement came after a call. The call happened between Vladimir Putin and Emmanuel Macron. He is the President of France. So the Kremlin made this important announcement.

There is growing evidence of continued fighting near the plant. It also poses a grave risk. Reportedly, 4 civilians got injured. The shelling and fighting came from the Russian side.

The International Atomic Energy Agency is the UN’s foremost authority on nuclear developments. The Director General also welcomed the fact that this decision came into practice. He is willing to lead the visit to Zaporizhzhia.

Volodymyr Zelensky is the President of Ukraine. He also welcomes this decision. However, he mentioned that some specific details are still in consideration. He said this in a nightly address.

The areas near the facility reported heavy firing. Many reports also confirmed the existence of intense artillery fire. Kyiv and Moscow blamed each other for the repeated attacks.

Valentyn Reznichenko is the Regional Governor. The firing destroyed 5 houses, he claimed. He said this on Telegram. In addition, around 4 civilians got injured because of the firing.

Ivan Nechayev commented on this. However, he believes that this can leave the plant more vulnerable. Also, he is from the Press Dept of the Russian Foreign Ministry. He made the statement on Friday.

Russia also wrote a letter to the UN. Russia alleged that Ukrainians want to cause a radiation leak. However, Russia believes that Ukraine will blame it on them. This can cause nuclear terrorism.

Both countries are trying to bring each other down. We need to wait and watch. This can also lead to one of the greatest nuclear disasters of all time. If it happens, it will be in the hands of Russia and Ukraine.
