Puntland In Africa Urges Locals To Heed Anti-Virus Advice

Garowe (PP News Desk) — Puntland Minister for Health Dr. Jama Farah Hassan has urged citizens to follow social distancing rules, wear a face-covering in public spaces, and to wash their hands regularly with soap to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

“People who buy locally made face-coverings should wash the face-covering with soap before using it” the Minister told Puntland Post.

Dr. Jama said that it was the mandate of the Education Ministry to ensure that schools close for two weeks as a precautionary measure if a child gets infected by COVID-19.

Jama Farah Hassan: “People should follow social distancing rules, wash their hands with soap regularly and wear a face-covering.”

The “Puntland State Government has instructed non-essential public service employees to work from home” said Jama.

The Heath Minister held a meeting with Garowe business leaders to address ways to increase oxygen supply at hospitals during the second wave of COVID-19.

The Health Minister also denied reports that the Ministry has yet to pay salaries of frontline health workers dealing with COVID-19 patients.
