Anti-Red Media Rally

We know that a rally was organized in Taiwan against the “Red Media” on June 23. Now, it has been found that the rally donations exceeded the total cost of organizing the rally and an extra NT$990,000 were given in donations. Therefore, the amount that has been exceeded will be donated to the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families and it will benefit the abused and unhealthy children as announced by organizers of the rally.

As reported by Taiwannews, New Power Party legislator Huang Kuo-chang made the revelation of financial details regarding the rally. He also said that after consulting his fellow organizer and a YouTube celebrity named Holger Chen, they have decided to donate the excess funds to the said organization.

Talking about the cost which was involded in organizing the event, Huan said that NT$1.4 million was the cost of whole event and more than 1000 supporters donated money for the rally and he mentioned that Chen also donated NT$500,000 to the funds.

Huang also said that they have found excess donations “much, much more than expected,” which is NT$990,321. Also, Huang has added that the fund they are willing to donate the excess amount to has already agreed to accept the money.

However, the YouTube Celebrity Chen had his show thrown out of a live-streaming platform because of organizing the rally. He praised Chen and said that he saw persistence and courage and he was also ready to make less money in return but he wanted to defend the freedom and democracy of Taiwan. Huang has also announced that he will assist Chen whenever he would launch a new show.
