Pop Legend Madonna To Direct Movie – About Herself!

One of pop music’s most famous female stars of the past 50 years – if not THE most famous – Madonna, will direct a new movie about her life.

Being billed as a “uniquely qualified director” in the US media overnight, Madonna, will be front and centre for the Universal Pictures as of yet untitled movie that she will both direct and co-write with Diablo Cody – the 42-year-old American writer behind “Juno”.

According to reports, Madonna herself has already said that she wants the finished article to show “the incredible journey that life has taken me on as an artist, a musician, a dancer – a human being, trying to make her way in this world.”

The now 62-year-old from Michigan first burst onto the pop music scene in 1983, with back to back hits Holiday and Lucky Star, and has had hit after hit over the decades since.

But her life has not been all about her music.

Relationships rough and smooth, time spent living in the UK in self-imposed ‘exile’ from the U.S., and adopting children from Africa have all made headlines over the years.

But for the star herself the movie will be about the reason she first became famous.

“The focus of this film will always be music,” Madonna said in a statement. “Music has kept me going and art has kept me alive. There are so many untold and inspiring stories and who better to tell it than me. It’s essential to share the roller coaster ride of my life with my voice and vision.”

It is understood the film will be produced by Amy Pascal, the person behind the 1992 production of “A League of their Own,” in which Madonna played a leading role.

“This movie is an absolute labor of love for me. I have known Madonna since we made ‘A League of Their Own’ together, and I can’t imagine anything more thrilling than collaborating with her and Diablo on bringing her true-life story to the big screen with Donna (Langley) and our partners at Universal” Pascal said.
