Mr. Blake approaching his car in a videograb
Reports from the US indicate that none of the police officers involved in the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, in the state of Wisconsin in mid-2020 will be charged after shooting him multiple times.
Mr. Blake was, at the time, attempting to reach into a car towards his three children after being stopped on the side of the road in a shooting videotaped and subsequently broadcast around the world.
Mr. Blake, a black American, was left paralysed after the shooting and no longer has control over the lower half of his body.
The shooting on August 23rd led to weeks of racial tensions in the small city midway between Milwaukee and Chicago on the west side of Lake Michigan, with riots eventually leaving many building in ruins.
Two people were also killed and one more injured in subsequent shootings in the city.
One of the shooters charged with the killings, then a seventeen year old youth has since denied all charges against him after he was confirmed to have joined a number of other local militia moving into the city in the wake of the Jacob Blake shooting.
The case is ongoing and reports indicate tensions remain high in the area.
