SEOUL, South Korea, April 13, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Taiwan has its Freedom Pineapples, and now Thailand has its Perseverance Mangos!
In a Thai Trade Center (Seoul) collaboration with Hyundai Department Store jointly organized by the Thai Fruit Promotion “Taste of Thailand 2021″ programme, the launch of a new variety of mango from Thailand, the Mahachanok Mango, sees a top grade rainbow-colored fruit now available to Korean consumers for the first time.
The Mahachanok Mango will be introduced to South Korea for the very first time after nine years of negotiations and will be sold at 16 branches of the renowned Hyundai Department Store nationwide as well as through the Hyundai Department Store’s online food mall “To home“.
The Mahachanok variety is slimmer and longer than regular mangoes, which are usually characterized by thinner seeds and thicker pulp.
It is also called a Rainbow Mango because its skin changes into colorful watercolors as it matures. The Mahachanok tastes like the Golden Mango and Apple Mango varieties at the same time.
Thailand now exports six kinds of fresh fruit to South Korea including banana, coconut, durian, pineapple, mangosteen, and mango.
“Thailand is a paradise of tropical fruit and there are various types of fruit that Koreans have not tasted yet,” said Vilasinee Nonsrichai, Director of the Thai Trade Center Seoul.
“(The) Mahachanok mango is one of them, and is a premium mango that can be enjoyed by the eyes, noses and lips” he added. “I look forward to receiving a lot of love from Koreans.”
