Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi imprisoned for 4 years

The government sentenced Ousted Myanmar ruler Aung San Suu Kyi to four years in jail. The initial is a sequel of decisions that could imprison her for their whole life. Police accused her on charges of breaking Covid rules and inciting dissent under a natural emergencies law. Ms. Suu Kyi faces 11 charges.

She widely condemned all the charges as unjust. She has renounced all accusations. Also, she has been in custody since a military victory in February, which overthrew her elected civilian administration. It is unclear when or if the police will place Ms. Suu Kyi in jail. The police also arrested Ms. Suu Kyi’s National League for Democracy (NLD) party ally and Co-defendant Win Myint, the former president.

The police arrested them on Monday under the same charges for 4 years. UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss also visited Myanmar to send out all political captives and enable recovery to democracy. She noted that the random custody of elected diplomats only risks further violence. And rights organization Amnesty named the accusations “bogus”.

They said it was the new example of the army’s courage to remove all opposition. Aung San Suu Kyi is due in the judiciary on 14 December. She will also confront assaults of retaining illegal walkie-talkies. In one issue, the court convicted Ms. Suu Kyi for disobeying Covid prohibitions for campaigning during the 2020 election.

In the other, the court accused her of inciting unrest for an assertion. Ms. Suu Kyi’s attorneys are the only source of data on the lawful proceedings. The officials serve them with gag orders prohibiting them from publishing data. Nonetheless, independent vote viewers have noted the elections were greatly fair and free.

The uprising triggered extensive rallies, and Myanmar’s service has cracked down on journalists, activists, and pro-democracy protesters. Nonetheless, the way she dealt with the Rohingya Crisis damaged her prestige abroad. It began in 2017. However, in 2019 Ms. Suu Kyi arrived at ICJ or the UN International Court of Justice to protect her nation against charges of genocide.
