Mass Shooting In Colorado Claims Seven Lives, Including Killer

In a case of mass-murder-suicide, a gunman in the US state of Colorado has killed six people before turning his gun on himself.

The killer, not yet identified reportedly walked into a trailer park birthday party on Sunday and began targeted shootings before he turned his weapon around to commit suicide.

No apparent motive for the murders is known, although he is understood to be the boyfriend of one of the six deceased victims.

According to police in the idyllic town of Colorado Springs a number of families had gathered in one trailer when “The suspect, a boyfriend of one of the female victims, drove to the residence, walked inside and began shooting people at the party before taking his own life.”

It is believed that all of the deceased victims were adults according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.

“This horrific act has resulted in the death of six adult victims. The children at the trailer were uninjured by the suspect and are now with relatives,” the police said, adding that “Upon arrival, officers located six deceased adults and one adult male with serious injuries who was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.”

The mayor of the small town, Mr. John Suthers said the act was a “senseless act of violence”, adding “Today we find ourselves mourning the loss of lives and praying solemnly for those who were injured and those who lost family members.”
