Japan extends state of emergency due to covid surge

Japan is now extending a state of emergency in Tokyo. It is expanding its restrictions to the new regions as the Olympic Games host is facing a covid surge. The restrictions are now taking place in the surrounding areas of the capital and the city of Osaka.

The Prime Minister of Japan, Yoshihide Suga, has warned about the spreading of infections. It is spreading at a more unprecedented rate. Hence he is urging the country to watch the Olympic Games from home.

The new cases are getting a surge with the more infectious Delta variant.  Mr. Suga said, “If the increase of infection does not stop, the severe symptoms cases will increase, and the medical system may be further under strain,”

Earlier, the Health Minister of Japan, Noirhisa Tamura, has warned that the country he entered is a new frightening state. Hence the Covid surge is taking place rapidly. According to him, people cannot see ahead, which is causing the worry regarding how long this situation will last. They are finding it unbearable that they cannot return to normal life.

Japan has seen some success in battling with the COVID1-19. It has managed to keep the cases low for months. But now, the surge in cases is concerning. The daily cases have topped the mark of 10000 for the first time on Thursday. More than a third of the cases have taken place in the capital.

In Tokyo, the Olympics are taking place. It has seen three straight days of recording the cases. However, it is highly concerns because the state is under a state of emergency.  Hospitals are facing pressure in admissions.

Olympic organizers have reported 27 new infections at the Games on Friday. It is bringing the total cashews up to 200 from July. But the strict rules include a ban on spectators. Organizers have denied that the event is driving the surge in the cases.

Despite this, some of the experts are also worried about the Olympics in such circumstances. It is sending some confusing messages to the public about the need for the limit of daily life.

Less than 30% of the population got their vaccination. The officials are aiming to vaccinate all those who want a dose up to October.  Some young people in Japan think that the government must continue the lockdown and provide some financial; support to them.
