Furious President Zelensky vows to punish Russia

President Zelensky stated that people are committing atrocities against Ukraine’s residents. Also, they will face the consequences. He said Ukrainians would neither forgive nor forget. He accused Russian military troops of deliberate murder.

Russia states that its operation revolves around “nationalists” and “neo-Nazis”.Olha Stefanishynais Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister. He told BBC that due to strong resistance from the Ukrainian army, Russia turned to civilians.

President Zelensky mentioned that for such people, the only quiet place is the grave. Ukrainian officials stated that Russia is targetting residents around the country. This forms hospitals, nurseries, and schools. Russia denies all claims.

A report observed the death of a family of four. This happened when Russian forces fired at people fleeing in the town of Irpin. Evacuations in the port city of Mariupol got canceled due to fresh attacks.

The city council mentioned that Russian shelling is making the movement impossible. Meanwhile, Russia blamed Ukrainian forces. The city is facing a scarcity of running water, power, and sanitation. Food and water are running out. Moscow announced the opening of new evacuation corridors.

Russia’s RIA Novosti news agency showed the ending of some of the corridors in Russia and Belarus.

The corridor from Kyiv leads to Russian ally Belarus. Hence, civilians from Kharkiv will only have a corridor leading to Russia.AFP news agency reports the cities of Mariupol and Sumy, leading to the Ukrainian cities and Russia. President Zelensky said that there would come a day of judgment.

He said, “We will not forgive, we will not forget, we will punish everyone who committed atrocities in this war on our land.”

President Zelensky accused Western governments of failing to speak out against the plan. The World Health Organization also said health facilities got attacked. This was along with its director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

British Government accused Russia of targeting residential areas. An intelligence update says that it “before used similar tactics in Chechnya in 1999 and Syria in 2016”.

The UNHCR said more than 1.5 million people fled Ukraine since Russia invaded.
