Elon Musk calls Taiwan ‘an integral part’ of China triggering the island nation

We were waiting to see what the world leaders have to say about the situation between Taiwan and China and also wanted to know the position of businessmen on this issue as well because we know that while they should all follow their hearts and minds, we know that is not what happens because they don’t want to risk losing business due to their statements in the media. However, the issue of China-Taiwan has been one where a lot of people have said a lot of different things and while most have remained neutral, there are those that have clearly decided to support one or the other.

Talking about the same, we know that Elon Musk recently went on a visit to China and since he was in China after a very long time, we all know what he must do. Support China and that is what he did in his very first speech. He compared Taiwan to Hawaii, calling it an “integral part” of China. Earlier this year, Elon Musk also said that tensions between the two countries can be eased “by giving China some control over Taiwan” which was obviously strongly rejected by the Taiwanese side.

Once again, Elon Musk has sided with China which obviously shows that he is committed to serving the people of China and is not much interested in Taiwan despite the fact that they need chips from Taiwan in order to run their EVs. Taiwan’s Foreign Minister, wrote on Elon Musk’s platform X, that “Listen up, Taiwan is not part of the PRC [People’s Republic of China] & certainly not for sale!,” and added that he “Hopes Elon Musk can also ask the CCP [Chinese Community Party] to open X to its people.” which is currently banned in China along with many other things such as Google services etc. The minister added that “The PRC [People’s Republic of China] has made it clear it wants to shape Taiwan’s coming national election. Well, it’s up to our citizens to decide, not the bully next door”. Elon’s comments are also interesting given US’ support for Taiwan over China.
